Book Review
Slapshot Summer by GK Brady is a fake Dating Hockey Romance Novella set in the Playmaker Series world. Lexi Campbell who is travelling alone on what would have been her honeymoon when she meets handsome hockey goalie, Josh Wylder who is also on holiday by himself. The two don’t start off on the warmest of footings but eventually find themselves in a fake dating arrangement. Things rapidly progress beyond fake as the two fall for each other in this sweet and spicy tale.
I thought Lexi was such a sweet character and when we meet her, she’s really coming to terms with a lot of changes in her professional and personal life. It was clear that her previous relationship had not been a great one and it was really nice to see her rediscover herself and recognise that she deserved more than her ex had given her. Josh, although he is quite grumpy at the start, immediately realised how great Lexi was and it was really funny to see him become more competitive as he switched from faking he liked her to actually liking her. The two had amazing chemistry and this is high heat and very spicy but it all works within the context of story. GK Brady is a new to me author and based on this, I will definitely be checking out her other work. This story is well paced, very sweet, spicy and swoony and I would recommend it.
