Advanced Reader Copy Review: Fall For Me by Camilla Isley

Fall For Me, by Camilla Isley is book two in the Blue Crescent Harbour series. The story begins in a dramatic fashion when we meet Peyton, as she has fled from her wedding (still in her dress) and finds herself in Blue Crescent Harbour. The tension continues to ramp up as her path crosses (literally) with the local Billionaire- Liam Rockwood- and the two quite have the meet cute, with neither being particular keen on the other! I really enjoyed the beginning of the book and how it built towards the premise of the two eventually agreeing to a mutually beneficial marriage of convenience. I found that it was a really interesting way to meet both characters and the story naturally drew my attention and held it until the end.
Although they relationship did not begin in a traditional way, it was clear very early on that Peyton and Liam were attracted towards each other. I genuinely felt quite sorry for Peyton as she realised not only that she had been a toxic relationship but that the fallout would have consequences for herself and her loved ones. She dealt with it quite pragmatically and as the story progressed it was really gratifying to watch her rebuild her life and find her confidence again. Liam played a huge role by giving her safe space and he went out of his way to make things ok for her. I really adored his character and when we meet him, he is prickly but never cruel. I really liked that their relationship is not one-sided, and Peyton is just as committed to defending and caring for him as he is for her. They are so well balanced, they had great communication and chemistry, and I loved watching them realise they were attracted to each other and navigate their developing feelings.
I have not read the first book in this series, but I didn’t feel that impacted my enjoyment of this book. I particularly liked the world building of Blue Crescent Harbour, and the season of Fall was vividly described with cosy vibes. It was nice to meet the other characters such as, Lila and Emma, the respective best friends of Liam and Peyton and explore the wider dynamic of the Blue Crescent Harbour community. I am looking forward to reading other books in this series. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.
